EDUSC Shield and Identity

Our shield and corporate identity are a key part of telling the story of the Episcopal Church in Upper South Carolina. These images are not only used in our publications and graphic identity, but they also appear in our corporate worship and on churches, banners, and ceremonial items.

Diocesan Shield

The Diocesan shield is available for download and can be used for Diocesan-sanctioned events and publications that refer to the Episcopal Diocese of Upper South Carolina and our Bishop. Please use these most current versions when you use the shield of the Diocese.

Please adhere to the following guidelines when using any of the files:

  • Please be careful when adjusting the size of the shield, so that it changes proportionally.
  • No distortions should be made.
  • It should not be used in a way that obscures its details.
  • It should be used only with materials and events that have to do with the Diocese, and not used for parish-related events.

The Episcopal Church Logos

This symbol, which you will likely see at every Episcopal Church, is the official "logo" of the Episcopal Church and represents our shared history.

The red Cross of St. George on a white field is symbolic of the Church of England. The blue field in the upper left corner is the Episcopal Church. It features a Cross of St. Andrew, in re-cognition of the fact that the first American bishop was consecrated in Scotland. This cross is made up of nine cross-lets or mini crosses, which represent the nine dioceses that met in Philadelphia in 1789 to form the Protestant Episcopal Church of the U.S.A.
