Diocesan Institutions

In addition to our 60 worshiping communities, the Episcopal Diocese of Upper South Carolina includes several partner institutions.

Bishop Gravatt Camp & Conference Center
Established in 1949, the Gravatt Camp and Conference Center is an Episcopal summer camp and conference center located outside of Aiken, South Carolina. Gravatt exists to create a Christian environment for spiritual renewal, learning, and growth. We accomplish that by offering an outdoor Christian youth camp and by hosting conferences, meetings, training, and retreats. We serve churches and other not-for-profit organizations and groups whose purposes include human-development, character-development, education, or training.

Christ Church Episcopal School
Christ Church Episcopal School is a college preparatory, co-educational day school. They are one of a handful of K-12 International Baccalaureate World Schools offering IB programs in all grades. The school's highly regarded academics and arts curriculum is complemented by an athletic program fielding 35 varsity, junior varsity, and C-teams, and an extensive co-curricular program offering opportunities for students to excel in many areas.

Heathwood Hall Episcopal School
A college preparatory school with a strong Episcopal heritage of stewardship, inclusivity, and respect for the dignity of every human being, Heathwood Hall Episcopal School walks with students, challenging them to balance the highest standards of scholarship, citizenship, and servant leadership.

Mead Hall
Mead Hall is a union of two long-established schools (Mead Hall Episcopal School and Aiken Preparatory School) that created a single K-12 program on two campuses in downtown Aiken. Small class sizes and a rigorous college preparatory curriculum prepare students for a lifetime of learning and leadership. St. Thaddeus regards Mead Hall as an essential outreach ministry, acknowledging the privilege and responsibility of shaping childrens lives.

Voorhees College
Voorhees College is a private, historically black, coeducational, liberal arts, baccalaureate degree-granting institution affiliated with the Episcopal Church. The College, located in rural South Carolina, serves traditional and nontraditional students primarily from the state of South Carolina and the southeastern region of the United States. The aim of the College is to offer each student an intensive general educational experience coupled with professional education in the value-centered liberal arts tradition. The College excels in instruction in liberal studies, arts and sciences and a wide range of pre-professional and professional disciplines. The College seeks to produce highly qualified graduates who combine intellect and faith in their preparation for strong professional performance, pursuit of life-long learning, betterment of society, and an abiding faith in God.
