US Congregational Life Survey
An great way to evaluate the progress of your congregation is to repeat the US Congregational Life survey. Taking the survey every three or four years is recommended so that you can compare your congregation’s improvement in the relevant measures of congregational strength as well as opinions on other questions. Understanding this kind of information will be especially useful for determine “what's working” and for refining your strategic planning for the future of your congregation.
We also recommend that congregations which have undergone substantial change over the past two years – either due to a recent change in leadership (particularly a change in the Rector/Vicar), or because sources of conflict or potential conflict have been dealt with – retake the survey.
As before, the Diocese will pay the basic cost of performing the US Congregational Life Survey. The only cost to your congregation will be $1.00 for each survey form ordered. You may order the survey forms and instructions by contacting The Rev. Canon Jimmy Hartley ([email protected]). Be careful to order a reasonable amount of survey forms… they charge per survey form ordered, not completed.
