Textile Village Servant Corps Informational Session
Wednesday, August 21st, 2019, 6:00 PM
The Textile Village Servant Corps will be holding an informational session at St. John's Episcopal Church on August 21 from 6 - 7 p.m. Founder and Director, Courtney Watson, will share about the history of the National Episcopal Service Corps and the origins of the program taking shape in the Upstate. TVSC is geared toward the young adult experience and aims to create a grounded community of 20-somethings in South Carolina. By serving their community, corps members will have the opportunity to learn from their neighbors and one another in an immersive and challenging environment. The program is looking to engage a larger intersection from the Diocese as it officially launches in the Fall of 2020.
The end goal of this program is to nurture a deeper sense of civic responsiblity, neighborness, and gospel living in the participants. It is designed to help encourage people to live more authentically into the gospel as the hands and feet of our community. It is the hope of the program to work with agencies who are ingrained in the communities in need.
