Hands and Hearts for Haiti
Saturday, June 1st, 2019, 6:30 PM
Join us for a night of dining, dancing, drinks, games, and just all around fun! Catered by Bagatelle’s, we‘ll dine on delicious Haitian fare. Then, we'll dance and sway to the beat of percussionist Jeff Holland, the founder of DRUM4WORK, his talented drummers, and other accomplished musicians.
Partners In Agriculture will also honor a special patron of Haiti, Jackie Williams, who’s spent more than 40 years working to end poverty in the Central Plateau through the creation of an arts center which nurtures artisans and the creative arts.
Join Partners in Agriculture for a wonderful evening! Buy tickets on the Eventbrite page.
About Partners in Agriculture
Partners In Agriculture (PIA) is an outreach of The Episcopal Diocese of Upper South Carolina's (EDUSC) long standing mission work in Haiti. PIA operates two working farms, a Family Food Security Program, and a state-of-the-art vocational school, the Centre de Formation Fritz Lafontant (CFFL). Thanks to your generosity, 200 additional families are participating in our Family Food Security Program and now have access to seeds, trees, goats, and chickens. We have graduated 150 agricultural students from CFFL. More than 120 elementary school kids are now able to attend their local schools thanks to the success of our Family Food Security Program. New field reports show that children enrolled in this program no longer suffer from malnutrition. PIA has helped over 1900 families and treated over 40,000 children for malnutrition.
EDUSC supports student scholarships to CFFL; its graduates work side-by-side with rural Haitians in the poverty-stricken Central Plateau to grow nutritious food and eliminate childhood malnutrition. Thanks to the support of many churches in EDUSC, PIA’s innovative School Goats and Gardens Program continues to grow – now serving four rural schools and giving hundreds of young children the opportunity to learn about correct farming methods and the importance of nutrition. Since School Goats and Gardens Program has started, we have distributed more than 700 goats and 400 laying hens to families in Haiti.
Buy a ticket and celebrate Partners in Agriculture's commitment to end childhood malnutrition in Haiti through agriculture, nutrition, and education! Enjoy a wonderful evening and support healthy children.
