Fall Clergy and Spouses Retreat
Sunday, September 22nd, 2019, 3:30 PM
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
This year’s Fall Clergy and Spouses Conference at Kanuga will dive into the important matter of Transformational Stewardship. In partnership with the Episcopal Church Foundation, ECF President Donald Romanik will explore with us the deep truths of the theological and practical aspects of stewardship. The goal of this conference is to assist the clergy of Upper SC in speaking more faithfully about our response to God's love and the transformation of our lives (and the lives of our parishes) through the practice of stewardship. The Fall Clergy Conference will also help set the stage for a broader discussion at the stewardship conference scheduled for February 1, 2020. Clergy spouses are also invited to attend the conference. Monday outings this year will include a visit to Carl Sandberg’s home, followed by lunch in Flat Rock.
The Conference will begin with Evening Prayer Sunday, September 22 and end after lunch September 24. Check-in on the 22nd will be available after 3:30 PM in the Kanuga Lake Lodge. The cost of the conference is $225 per person, double room, $300 per person single room, and $100 per person for those who commute. The deadline for registration is tomorrow.
For clergy new to the diocese (or those with new cures), you are invited to stay an additional day at Kanuga to participate in Clergy Leadership workshops. The focused learnings for the fall will include Leadership in the Church, Non-profit Management, and Human Relations and Conflict. Registration for this event is available on the link above. (If you are not a new clergy person but would like to attend this offering, please contact The Rev. Canon d’Rue Hazel at [email protected].
In gratitude for your ministry in Upper South Carolina, I remain
Your Brother in Christ,
The Rt. Rev. Andrew Waldo
