5th Grade Bridge Retreat
Saturday, April 27, 2024, 11:00 AM
The transition from elementary school into middle school is often a time filled with excitement and anxiety, where students may feel "in-between" two worlds. Even at church, fifth graders think they’re too old for Sunday school but might be intimidated by middle school kids. Bridge Retreat lets these students to participate in a shorter version of a youth retreat with peers who might be experiencing the same feelings.
The program for 5th Grade Bridge Retreat takes participants on an adventure through the grounds of Camp Gravatt. For a retreat that lasts about 24 hours, it's jam-packed with games, small groups activities, outdoor education, and faith formation. Participants are invited to turn their imaginations on as we navigate the ups and downs of big life transitions together and get familiar with spiritual tools that help us grow strong through change.
Registration coming soon.
Registration closes April 8.
The Bridge Retreat Junior Leaders program is an opportunity for students in grades 6-12 who are not currently serving on the Diocesan Youth Leadership Committee to get first-hand experience facilitating youth retreats in a low-risk learning environment. The time commitment is minimal (no advanced preparation necessary; teambuilding with DYLC takes place at Gravatt the night before Bridge Retreat begins), making this a great chance to "test the waters" of peer leadership.
Junior Leaders applications will be accepted March 8 - April 8.
