This weekend retreat for 6-8 grade youth provides opportunities to build new relationships and renew old ones. The weekend draws youth into a deeper walk with Christ while exploring healthy relationships with God, self, others and creation. There is also time for swimming and a time to display your best and craziest talent at the Saturday night Talent Show.

The $115 per person fee includes dinner Friday through lunch on Sunday. Registration begins 6:00 pm Friday. The weekend ends at 1:00 pm on Sunday.

The New Beginnings Design Team is made up of middle school youth, senior high youth, relational ministers (high school youth who lead small groups of middle schoolers at their churches) and adults from throughout the diocese who have previously attended a diocesan youth retreat. This group designs the event and prepares the skits, talks and activities for the weekend.

This is a serious responsibility and although we enjoy fellowship and community together, it is primarily a working group. Members of the group will be asked to contribute their gifts and skills, to learn about leadership, to turn all material in by assigned deadlines, to respond to all communications and to be role models at the event. Those who wish to serve on the design team are required to attend the two design team meetings, as well as the entire New Beginnings event. Design Team members are also expected to uphold and abide by the Youth Community Covenant of the Diocese of Upper South Carolina.
