St. Peter’s and Holy Cross Churches Seeking Youth Minister
SIMPSONVILLE and GREENVILLE, SC – Holy Cross and St. Peter’s Episcopal Churches are seeking a full-time youth minister to be shared between the two churches. This position includes paid vacation, a continuing education budget, health insurance and a cell phone allowance. No prior youth ministry experience is required.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide enthusiastic, collaborative leadership to develop strong youth programs and mission service opportunities
- Provide a safe environment—physical, emotional and spiritual—for our youth
- Recruit, train and support youth leaders and volunteers, including parents and other adults who offer spiritual mentoring to our youth
- Coordinate, communicate and promote youth ministries’ missions, events and programs to ensure familiarity throughout the parishes
- Communicate regularly with youth, parents and youth leaders
- Provide pastoral care for youth, parents and youth leaders
The Ideal Candidate:
Applicants should have the following attributes:
- Capable of setting and maintaining healthy boundaries
- Spiritual maturity and a strong sense of self-awareness in relationships with youth and adults
- Open to the breadth of Biblical interpretation and theological perspective in the church (The candidate need not be Episcopalian, but an awareness of the Anglican tradition would be ideal.)
- Comfortable using and learning communication technologies, such as texting and Facebook, and familiar with Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Flexible schedule and able to work weekends, weeknights and days when youth are out of school, including summer mission trips and pilgrimages
- Familiar with crisis ministry and able to minister to people with special needs and mental health diagnoses

Children and Youth Ministry Coordinator Grace Church, Camden, is seeking a qualified person to fill a newly created parish staff position of Children and Youth Ministry Coordinator. This part-time (20 hour/week) position entails oversight responsibilities for Grace Church’s program ministries for Children and Youth Formation, involving a mixture of programmatic support for volunteers as well as hands-on participation, particularly with the youth. Competitive hourly salary ($17.50/hour). Driver’s license, SLED check, and respect for the Episcopal Church required.
