Cursillo - The purpose of Cursillo is to help those in the Church understand their individual callings to be Christian leaders. The leadership may be exercised in one's work situations, in one's family and social life, in one's leisure activities, and within the Church environment. Leadership, in Cursillo, does not mean power over others, but influence on others; all of us need to be aware that we can exert a positive influence on those around us. The goal of Cursillo is the goal of the Church: to bring all to Christ. This is accomplished when informed, trained leaders set out with the support of others having a similar commitment. Happening - Happening is a weekend event for youth in grades 10-12 which is focused on encountering Christ within community and learning how to strengthen our relationships with Christ and each other. The weekend is structured on a national program, adding local flavor and traditions. Since each weekend offers basically the same program, with variations due to the individuals who make up the team, one only "makes" one Happening weekend, but can participate as a team member at subsequent weekends. New Beginnings - This program, which is rooted in the tradition of Happening and Cursillo, is based on presenting the basics of Christianity and how we use that faith to guide our lives. Talks are given throughout the weekend by young people and adults on various subjects: friends, family, peer pressure, the Church, Jesus, and sharing one's faith. Participants have the opportunity to share their response to these talks in small groups and to the whole community. Interspaced between talks are times for games, hanging out with friends, and large-group activities. Part of Saturday night's program is an opportunity for all participants to share any special gifts or talents, so bring along musical instruments, poems, stories, or other props that might be necessary. Vocaré - Vocaré is an instrument of renewal in the Church for young adults ages 19 - 30. Its aim is to concentrate on the person and teachings of Jesus Christ. Personal faith is seriously examined in a relaxed and loving three-day adventure shared with an international community of young adults. The Vocaré community strives to keep God first, find a place in his world while remaining in the center of his will, and look to hear Christ’s calling in the heavy life decisions that this age group encounters.
