At the end of a long business day, convention goers look forward to the report of the Committee on Courtesy, which always manages to put it all into perspective. This year's report was the handiwork of the Rev. Jack Hardaway, rector of Grace Church, Anderson. It's no exaggeration to say that it left us hungry for more! (Note: There's a Krispy Kreme donut shop one block from the Carolina First Convention Center where we met.)

Our minutes report that we have consumed 123 donuts, 56 cups of coffee, and two gallons of insulin.
Let it be noted that the minutes ceased to make sense during several episodes of slipping into sugar comas.
After awaking from the most recent episode, about five minutes ago, we passed a unanimous resolution to say thank you to all who made this day happen—especially the parishes of St. Peter's, St. Andrew', and St. James', their clergy, their leadership, and their volunteers—for hosting this wonderful event right in Krispy Kreme's backyard.
Unfortunately, the committee doesn't remember much of what has happened this day, due to our recent relapse into sugar la-la land.

Speaking of apostles, we also have 15 jelly-filled donuts for the apostle of our diocese, Bishop Dorsey F. Henderson—one for every year of serving as our Bishop. Unfortunately, not all the donuts made it.
So let us brush the sugar from our lips and the crumbs from our sleeves as we go forth into the world singing "There is a sweet, sweet spirit in this place."
Amen.
