All Cursillistas are invited to participate in an Episcopal Cursillo Leaders Workshop, commonly known as an ECLW. The event will take place at Christ Church Greenville November 2-4, 2007. In order to participate, one must have attended a Cursillo at any time and, in any diocese.
One of the most important keys to growing future leaders is the ECLW. Now more than twenty years old, this program offers Cursillo communities an opportunity to reflect on what they do. We come together to celebrate our strengths, identify our challenges, and work to improve what we are already doing so well.
The ECLW is intended for any Cursillista who is called to work in Cursillo as a mission field. Dioceses are encouraged to identify future as well as current leaders and to send them to an ECLW even if it means helping to finance their participation. Investing in the work of growing leaders is the best investment a diocesan Cursillo community can make in its own future. For surely, when we do that we invest also in growth of the Kingdom.
A registration packet can be downloaded from our diocesan Web site.

South Carolina Responds to Genocide
Rally to be held October 6, 2007 from 2-5 p.m. Please note the change of date from September 16.
The people of the Darfur region of western Sudan are victims of a ruthless genocide. This genocide began in early 2003 when armed opposition groups emerged in the Darfur region of western Sudan in response to economic, political and social marginalization of the African population of Darfur. Rather than combating these rebel military forces, the Sudanese government chose to attack innocent women and children in a scorched earth campaign. The suffering and destruction continue.
During September, discussion groups, study groups, faith and religious studies, civic clubs, etc. are encouraged to have DARFUR as a lesson or topic. For resources:
www.dagsc.org. This site offers access and links to a variety of videos, reading materials, appropriate sacred texts, and worship materials. Please note: some of the images are quite graphic and may be disturbing to younger teens and children.
Thank you for supporting the suffering people of Darfur.
