Diocesan Youth Leadership Committee
Working with the Canon for Youth Ministry is a group of youth and adult leaders who make up the Diocesan Youth Leadership Committee - otherwise known as the DYLC. Membership on this Committee is open to all youth and adults who are actively involved in their local congregation's youth program, regularly worship in their home congregation, and who have had some exposure to diocesan level youth programs. Members serve for at least one year and may be re-appointed for up to three years. This group assists the Canon in preparation of the Statement of Mission requests for the next budget year, the creation of policies and procedures for diocesan level youth events, and the design and implementation of youth programs at the diocesan level.
Each year new members of the Committee are appointed and begin their work for the coming year. The 2011-2012 team has been chosen. Click here to see your new team!

New Beginnings Design Team The Junior High Spring Retreat is designed around a set program which is called New Beginnings. This program draws leadership from the DYLC and those who have attended a previous New Beginnings weekend - both Junior and Senior High youth. This design team is selected in early January and each person selected receives a letter of invitation. Staff members are selected to give a diverse community of age, gender, congregations, experience and leadership. Those selected must be available to attend two staff meetings prior to the weekend and the entire event. Staff meetings are usually held at All Saints' in Clinton and the event is held at Camp Gravatt. Transportation to and from these meetings and the event are the responsibility of the parents of the staff member. If you have attended a New Beginnings before and are interested, please click here.
Happening Staff Two Happening weekends are held in the Diocese each year. These weekends are staffed by youth and adults who have attended a previous Happening weekend. For further information, click here.
