The following Minimum Insurance Requirements, recommended by the Diocesan Committee on Property and Insurance, were recently approved by the Diocesan Executive Council.
To confirm compliance, if your church is not insured through Church Insurance Agency Corporation, please send a copy of your current property and casualty insurance policies to the Diocesan House, Attention Cynthia Hendrix, 1115 Marion Street, Columbia SC, 29201. Additionally, please have your current insurance carrier add the Episcopal Diocese of Upper South Carolina as an additional insured under your current policy, if you have not already done so. The Episcopal Diocese of Minimum Insurance Requirements (Download a printable copy) Canon 7:Sec. 1(g) of The Episcopal Church states: “All buildings and their contents shall be kept adequately insured.” As all property is held in trust for the Diocese; the minimum insurance requirements as determined by the Property Insurance Committee of the Diocese of Upper South Carolina are as follows: COMMERCIAL PACKAGE POLICY, to include the following minimum limits:
DIRECTORS & OFFICERS (D&O) POLICY including the following liability limits:
WORKERS’ COMPENSATION POLICY (including supply clergy)
UMBRELLA POLICY (Excess Liability)
As excess over Commercial General Liability, Pastoral Counseling, Sexual Misconduct, Directors’ & Officers, Owned Auto, Hired and Non-Owned Auto and Workers Compensation.
